For the ninth year in a row a team from Stony Point and All Saints Churches will travel to Uganda to support and encourage Pastor Isaac Wagaba and his ministry. Wagaba was shot by firing squad and left for dead in a mass grave by Idi Amin’s forces in 1979 for refusing to convert to Islam.

He miraculously survived and heard God call him to become a "father of the fatherless." Isaac now runs a thriving children's home that houses 100 orphans named Canaan Children’s Home, a health clinic, and a school too.

Orphans are a serious problem in Uganda as recent reports indicate that over 12% of the 9 million children under 18 years of age have been orphaned due to the prolonged effects of civil war, Malaria, and AIDS.

Our role will be to bring medical supplies, conduct children's clubs, and distribute mosquito nets to help combat Malaria. Since Pastor Isaac administers a major district of his church we also have the opportunity to train hundreds of church leaders including pastors and youth pastors.

Dates: June 21 to July 4, 2008. Cost for the whole trip: $40,000.
