This is the far better speech by a far greater king, isn’t it – that Jesus meeting Mary outside the tomb could tell her in evident joy, ‘I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ If you have taken God’s offer of clemency in Jesus, you’re not just free – you’ve been affirmed. You belong in the rightness of Jesus to the God who loves you. And you do so by trusting Christ through the gift of faith.
